The North Pole is the NCR's code name for the hypothetical location of Three Tears, the overall leader of the expansive Badlander Tribe. The goal of the project is for the NCR to know where to strike in case of war with the Badlanders. Although no definite location has been determined as of 2287, the search continues. Four locations have been deemed "most likely".

Anchorage[]

Anchorage

The most prevalent theory of Three Tears location is that he is based in a former U.S. Army bunker in Anchorage.

It has been deciphered from encrypted Badlander radio chatter that Three Tears did, at least at one time, live in a bunker in Alaska. Because of the high number of pre-War bunkers built there during the war, Anchorage is most likely what was mentioned.

However, the bunker may have only been a temporary home, and NCR spies have heard of no Badlander activity in the ruins of Anchorage since 2270. It is likely Three Tears has been there, but he does not stay there year-round.

The Aleutian Islands[]

Aleutians

Another possible location of Three Tears is the Aleutian Islands off the coast of Alaska. Badlander canoes have been sighted from there and several merchants in the Pacific Northwest swear on their lives that they have seen the warlord, in the flesh, on the Aleutians. There is also confirmed Badlander radio chatter coming from the islands.

This theory is problematic because the Aleutians are too out of the way and isolated from the Alaskan mainland. Unless Three Tears is commanding his hordes from afar, the North Pole is not in the Aleutians.

Iqaluit[]

Iqaluit

The theory that Three Tears is based in Iqaluit, the pre-War capital of the Canadian province of Nunavut, is less based on fact than word of mouth. The story was that the ancestors of the Badlanders, U.S. Special Forces and Canadian survivalists, went north after the Great War and lived with the Inuit tribes in the harsh, untouched northern tundra.

This theory is widespread but unlikely. Three Tears' warriors are said to range as far south as Washington and as far west as the Aleutians. As with the Aleutians theory, the Iqaluit theory is unlikely simply because it is unlikely Three Tears would be so far away from the packs.

Vancouver[]

Vancouver

A confirmed location of the Alaska Pack, Vancouver is an active warzone and Three Tears' warriors are confirmed to have fought there. However, as the area is an active warzone with the Badlanders as an invading force, Vancouver is unlikely to be the North Pole.
