An exclusive hunting club, membership of which was saw by some to be a sign of status in Maine. More of a group of business executives than actual outdoorsmen, the society did meet frequently, though was usually to drink and make private deals.

History[]

The Northern Woodsmen Society was founded in early 2054 by Carl Undugass, a prominent media baron. He sent invitations to peers in various industries, promising the highest quality club and company. The society was located at Undugass' retreat in the Moose River Valley, an expansive property in the forest.

Undugass charmed all invited at the estate, and the Society was established. Members made the journey several times a year to meet at the lodge, where they often spent more time smoking and drinking than actually hunting anything. The Woodsmen did have a charity event in 2065, hosting various military veterans and their families for a week. Undugass and several other members took a liking to several of these individuals, and extended membership to them.

These veterans frequented the lodge more often then the business crowd, and would stock it was their excess weapons. More often than not, they also brought their trophies with them. Urdugass and the business crowd saw this as a challenge, and they began to bring their own rifles, though most of these were newly purchased. A healthy rivalry developed between the two sides, with two contests taking place by 2075. In the lead-up to the Great War, the Woodsmen were preparing a shelter for themselves and their families. They were caught unaware by the suddenness of the event however, and most members were at their homes when the bombs fell. Those that were in the lodge fared well in the initial chaos, but died of radiation poisoning soon after.

The group was completely forgotten in the time since, though their lodge has been looted and camped in over the years. It is currently acting as the homestead for a lumber family.
