The Special League of Australian Pharmaceutical, Peacemaking and Medical Activists and Corporation is a wasteland-roaming group of makeshift doctors, pharmacists and other assorted medics formed from the remains of the Australian Red Cross.
A sight for many sore eyes on the wastes, the S.L.A.P.P.M. Activists seek to cure the sick and disfigured of the wastes with a characteristic hands-on, firm-skinned tenacity. However skilled they may be in patching up wounds inflicted by raiders, various paramilitants or Super Emus, their social attitudes and politics - much like the actual Red Cross of its day - are throbbing with a rock-hard judeo-christian conservatism. Most notably, this includes their tight attitudes towards sexuality, and a stiff belief in the preservation of family values.
